I am 29 years old, happily married and have a 5 year old son. I am a teacher, I teach chemistry and physics and I am a total science nerd! My hobbies include watching movies, reading books, and marathoning tv shows.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN KETO?
Since April 2016, so about 10 months..
HOW DID YOU COME TO THE KETO WAY OF EATING?
My husband was doing research and came across information about it on Reddit…He began KETO and it was easier for us to eat the same things so I started doing it too!
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS HAVE YOU GOTTEN FROM EATING KETO?
I have lost right at 70 pounds from eating keto, my energy level is higher than ever before, and I don’t have joint pain anymore.
HAVE YOU HAD ANY SETBACKS OR CHALLENGES IN YOUR KETO JOURNEY?
The biggest challenge to me is getting together with family/friends. Every event is always centered around food and It’s hard to say no to foods that I have always loved and foods they EXPECT me to eat.. Family and friends mean well but it’s hard to make them understand this way of eating. I often hear.. “You can have ONE…. It won’t hurt you!” They just do not understand that ONE will kick me out of ketosis.

- ALL the cheese (mozzarella, cream cheese, provolone, shredded cheddar, colby jack, string cheese)

WHAT ARE THE TOP 3 TIPS YOU WOULD GIVE TO A KETO NEWBIE?
1. Read a getting started checklist and go shopping, but keep it simple in the beginning!
2) Try to encourage your family to get on board! It’s so much easier cooking one meal.
3) Stay away from the artificial sweets in the beginning… break the carb addiction!

EXERCISE! DO YOU DO IT?!
DO YOU EXERCISE IN ADDITION TO YOUR KETO WOE? IF SO WHAT IS YOUR WORKOUT PLAN AND WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND TO BE MOST SUCCESSFUL?
I haven’t had a good workout routine yet. I just started lifting weights though and I am excited to see my body further transform.
DO YOU TAKE ANY SUPPLEMENTS?
Yes! I drink keto//os every morning! It helped break my stall that I thought would last forever.
