I had never tried bone broth before going Keto. In fact the only time I had even heard of it was when I was reading an article about Kobe Bryant and how he drinks it daily to help overcome injuries and keep the inflammation down in his body. As someone with Psoriatic Arthritis this interested me. So when I wandered into the Bulletproof Coffee Shop a couple months ago in Santa Monica and saw that they sold it, I had to try it. I wrote about my first experience with the broth HERE so you can check that out, but fast forward a couple months and I have continued to sip Bulletproof's Bone Broth at least a few days a week.
This weekend I was at my local Farmer's Market in Marina del Rey and came across a new brand of Bone Broth that can be reheated at home, Brothee. I tried the chicken and beef broth, both were good but I decided to buy the chicken. The really cool part is they also sell flavored Ghee that you can heat with the broth to infuse the flavors, so I bought the Basil Pesto Ghee. I think it was about $20 for 1 jar of broth and the ghee. Right now they are only at Farmer's Markets in the Los Angeles area, but he said they would be available for wholesale soon and then I assume will start popping up on shelves.
For the past week I have been trying to Intermittent Fast most mornings and hope to continue that and I think for me this will be a great option on days when I can't get to Bulletproof. And for those of you thinking "just make your own broth"- yes, I know I could do that but with my crazy life that is not happening!
