TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
Hey there, I'm a 40 year old wife and poodle mama to Peggy and Vern! I work part time as a personal assistant/nanny to a local Nashville family and also am a photographer.
I love to travel. I love to cook and take pretty pictures of the food I cooked maybe more than I like to cook. :)
I have a degree in special education, am a beauty school drop out and almost went to interior design school. So I like all things creative especially in the home.
Recently I've learned I love the art of good coffee and of course photographing that coffee as well.
I'm working on a children's book that'll be completed this year (heard it here first, folks!) - told ya, all things creative.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN KETO?
I started the keto diet on January 1, 2016. I think I mostly ate meat and cheese the first two months until I figured it out!
HOW DID YOU COME TO THE KETO WAY OF EATING?
The short answer, which might turn out to be long [I tend to get a little carried away] is because I was desperate to find a successful way to lose weight. I had tried every diet, being overweight most all my life, from prescription diet pills to counting fat grams, to paleo, Beverly Hills Diet, clean eating...just to name a few…
Sometimes success, mostly failure. When my husband and I got married five years ago, we immediately began planning for our children and growing our family since I was 35 - I learned I had PCOS [polysostic ovarian syndrome] and that our journey to children was going to be long.
After five, almost six years, nearly all of it on fertility medicine met with only failures, we've had four miscarriages and much more just hardness with infertility - my health and weight was at an all time high. I felt physically beat down and just lost. I knew and know my weight plays a factor in infertility and just was desperate to find SOMETHING, anything. I found the word “keto” and “ketogenic” in late December 2015 when searching “diets for pcos” and after reading everything I could find, I dug in head first.
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS HAVE YOU GOTTEN FROM EATING KETO?
I’ve lost almost 50 pounds! I don't lose weight. And it's amazing to me the successes I've had this year. Amazing. I'm a keto-er for life!
HAVE YOU HAD ANY SETBACKS OR CHALLENGES IN YOUR KETO JOURNEY?
I really haven't. Most of my friends know I'm doing “a weird diet” and know I'm probably going to order something different than they want or make something “low-carb” when they come over. I don't cheat and honestly don't feel the need to. I feel awesome.
