Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Update: My Tremfya Journey, Week 4 Update
In May I shared that I was being switched to Tremfya after being on Otezla and Zeljanz for almost 2 years for my Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Tremfya is an injection that I give myself. The first two injections are taken at weeks 0 and 4. So now I have done both of those!
Tremfya Injection Schedule
Week 0 (April 30th)
Week 4 (May 28th)
And then every 8 weeks after that (July 28, September 28, etc…)
I am seeing some improvement after the first shot. The psoriasis has flattened out and I am getting “halos” around some of my spots, especially on my legs, which shows that it is healing, so that is promising! My scalp, chest, arms, and trunk are all healing well. None of them have gotten worse which I great.
I have also noticed my joints are getting better. My thumb was extremely swollen a month ago and now it has gone down considerably. My right pinkie has also gone down quite a bit. But I still have quite a few swollen fingers and a couple toes.
I will be spending the next 3 weeks in Arizona, so the added time in the sun should help as well. It’s strange to now wait 8 weeks before my next injection, but I’m excited to see how much progress I hopefully make!
