KETO COCKTAIL RECIPES: Light and Refreshing Summer Drinks
Following a keto lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to skip cocktails with your friends, there are tons of delicious ways to enjoy alcohol in a low carb way.
COCKTAILS
So the simplest way to create a low carb drink is to start with one of these and add a sugar-free mixer. Luckily there are so many sugar-free drinks these days, it’s easy to create almost anything. Hard alcohol like Gin, Tequila, Vodka, Whiskey have zero carbs so they are great choices to start a drink recipe! I mainly go for Vodka or Tequila, so here are some of my favorite drinks:
Vodka + Soda, Vodka + Diet Tonic, Vodka + Bai (Bai Sparkling too), Vodka + Sparkling Ice, Vodka + Zevia, Vodka + Sprite Zero
Squirt of fresh lime juice
You can mix these with Gin as well
Tequila + Soda, Tequila + Sparkling Water, Tequila + Diet Tonic, Tequila + Sparkling Bai (love the Grapefruit flavor for a Paloma style drink), Tequila + Fresh lime juice, Tequila + Sprite Zero
I’m not a whiskey drinker, but Whiskey + Diet Coke, Whiskey + Zevia Ginger Ale
WINE
If you’re a wine drinker, the good news is you can still enjoy wine on keto. You do want to stay away from sweet wines though, this would include Moscato, Zinfandel, Port and any dessert wine.
Champagne: a 5oz glass has 2g of carbs
Red Wine: a 5oz glass has 4g of carbs
Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet
White Wine: a 5oz glass has 3g of carbs
Sauvignon Blanc
Pinot Grigio
Chardonnay has 3.7g of carbs
Riesling has 5.5g of carbs
If you find it hard to stop at one glass of wine, then just be conscious that the carbs add up quickly.
BEER
It seems like there are new low carb beers and spiked seltzers coming out every day, so there are a lot more options in this category than there used to be.
My favorite low carb beers are Corona Premier (2.6g carbs) and Michelob Ultra (2.6g carbs)
My favorite spiked seltzers are White Claw (2g carbs) and Truly Lemonade (3g carbs)
