NOT ALL CAULIFLOWER CRUST IS CREATED EQUAL!

RGF_11.JPEG

Cauliflower crust pizzas are all the craze these days, but it’s kinda crazy when you look at the difference between different types of cauliflower crust pizzas. Some are still super high in carbs, like 20g of carbs a serving! Which obviously doesn’t fit within my ketogenic lifestyle.

Real Good Food's new Cauliflower Pizza has only 9g Total Carbs / 6 Net Carbs and 19g of Protein per serving. I love that I can pronounce and recognize all of the ingredients in these Cauliflower Pizzas. Other companies use fillers and weird starches to add texture to their crusts but Real Good Foods doesn’t need to!

Real Good Food's Cauliflower Pizza is new and improved! They revamped their low carb cauli-crust recipe and I love it! I’ve always like Real Good Food’s Cauliflower Pizza. But I love that they weren’t satisfied with a pretty good product and wanted it to be GREAT!

The new crust is much more robust when it comes to flavor. It has the crunch and texture that we all love from Pizza but without all of the carbs. It also cooks up beautifully!

I always keep a couple Real Good Food Pizza's in my freezer. It's a great option for those nights when Kaia and I are too tired to cook up dinner. Sometimes I cook one up and then pack it for our Lunches. It gives me peace of mind that I can just throw a Cauliflower Pizza in the oven and know that both my daughter and I are getting the nutrition we need without the crap we don't.

KEEPING IT KETO DURING A BUSY WEEK

The last two weeks have extremely busy for me. Normally, cooking and prepping my keto meals brings me joy. But between traveling, work, and family activities, there hasn’t been a lot of time to think about cooking.

This week is also going to be hectic, but I am going to take some time each day to focus on me.

This week I am going try to:

  • Drink more water
  • Turn off electronics 30 minutes before I go to bed
  • Do something nice for myself (take a bath, go on a walk, buy some flowers)
  • Cook delicious, colorful, keto recipes for my daughter and I

Cooking is magical for me. It is time sensitive, so it doesn’t leave a lot of room for me to think about other things. When I’m cooking, everything that has worried me during my day goes away. I am forced to be present in this moment and solve the problem right in front of me.

For this week, I’ve picked quick and easy recipes from my cookbook. I love the Steak and Egg Bibimbap. It only takes 30 minutes and feels like a fancy dinner. I will also make some jars of my Blackberry Chia Pudding for my daughter to eat in the morning and for me to enjoy for dessert.

A couple nights this week (and all weeks during volleyball season) my daughter has practice until 8, which is too late to cook, so on those nights we'll eat Keto Fridge or pizzas from Real Good Foods.

Keto Fridge makes prepared Ketogenic meals that are delivered to your home and contain perfect keto macros. The menu changes every week and you are not locked into a subscription. You just log in and choose at least 5 meals to order. Here is a full review

Don't Forget to use the code: KETOINTHECITY to get 10% off of Keto Fridge and Real Good Foods.

Hopefully in the coming weeks, I can settle back into my usual routine, but it is so nice to know that I have quick keto options ready for me at home.

KETO PIZZA OPTIONS!

Who doesn't love pizza? It's just one of those comfort foods that everyone loves. Luckily there are a few different ways to get your pizza fix on keto!

1. LOW CARB TORTILLA PIZZA

This is the pizza that I make the most because it is so quick and so simple! Plus my daughter loves them, so after late volleyball practices this is one of our go to meals!

I simply heat up olive oil in a skillet at medium high heat, put the tortilla down, spread a little tomato sauce down, then shredded mozzarella, then seasoning (Italian or whatever you like), then put your toppings down, then I like to finish it off with a little grated Parm.

2. FAT HEAD PIZZA

Fat Head is a classic Keto pizza crust, you use shredded mozzarella cheese and almond flour and cream cheese to make the crust. You bake that first and then put the toppings in and pop it back in the oven.

Some people also like cauliflower crust pizza, but while I love cauliflower and I love pizza I DO NOT love cauliflower pizza crust. It's just not for me, but you can google plenty of recipes!

3. SKILLET PIZZA

The skillet pizza is the same as the tortilla pizza except, NO TORTILLA! You just crisp up the bottom of the cheese until it browns and holds the whole thing together. I usually leave the tomato sauce off of this one, but you can add it, just put the cheese down first until it melts. Click HERE for recipe.
