Cinnamon Roll Keto Bars!

This week, I got to try Perfect Keto’s new flavor of Keto Bar: Cinnamon Roll. I am always a little skeptical about “bars”. It’s really hard to get a good texture and a good flavor with most snack bars. Perfect Keto has crushed it with these new Cinnamon Roll Flavored Keto Bars.

They taste a lot like Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal which makes me soooo happy!!

Perfect Keto’s Bars are made with real ingredients like Almond and Cacao Butter, MCT Oil, and Grass-fed Collagen. They have 11g of protein, 17g of healthy Keto Fats, and only 3g of Net Carbs.

These macros allow you to enjoy Keto Bars anytime of day! You can enjoy them in the morning with your coffee if you are the type of person that needs breakfast. You can cover them in Nut Butter and enjoy them as an after lunch snack. You can even microwave Keto Bars for 10-30 seconds for a decadent dessert!

For this week only Perfect Keto is running a special on ALL flavors of Keto Bars. The more boxes you buy, the more you save! This discount applies to every flavor: Lemon Poppyseed, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Almond Butter Brownie and the brand new CInnamon Roll Flavor.

You can even get 25% off when you buy four boxes of Keto Bars, but hurry this offer only lasts until Friday, August 9th!

Keto Supplements: Ceylon Cinnamon Capsules

Cinnamon is one of my favorite ingredients! It is absolutely delicious but it’s also so good for us!

“Research has supported the benefits of cinnamon by showing its ability to support healthy immune and cellular function, healthy carbohydrate metabolism, promote normal digestion, improve blood glucose control, combat inflammation, and support healthy cardiovascular function.” -Equip Foods

However, It is really hard to consume enough cinnamon in one day to get all of these amazing benefits. (There are only so many Fat Head Cinnamon Rolls a girl can eat!)

That’s why I was so grateful when I found out that Equip foods was launching their Ceylon Cinnamon Supplement!

Every serving (2 caps) of Equip Cinnamon Caps contains 1,200 mg of Ceylon Cinnamon.  Ceylon Cinnamon is more beneficial than other types of Cinnamon. It is free of Cassia and other compounds that are said to be toxic in large doses.

Equip Cinnamon caps are known to help with digestion, give you more energy, and even reduce the effects of a higher carb meal. Cinnamon is also famous for being an anti-inflammatory.

Equip found a way to make getting all of the benefits of large quantities of cinnamon with out having to endure a mouthful of spice or a bellyache. These Ceylon Cinnamon Caps are made with the highest quality ingredients and were designed to fit into your Keto Lifestyle.

Keto Sweeteners: How and When to use them!

Let’s be honest! We all love sweets!!!

It’s a common misconception that if you go Keto, you can never have sweets again. That’s not true. You can enjoy baked goods, ice cream, cookies, etc without the carbs. When going Keto, it is important to explore and research all of the different types of non-sugar sweeteners. Because living without sweets would be awful!

There are three particular non-sugar sweeteners that I use all of the time in my everyday life. (I try to avoid too many chemicals in my diet, so I steer clear of aspartame and sucralose as much as I possibly can.) I mostly stick to naturally occurring sweeteners like Stevia, Erythritol, and Monk Fruit Extract.

Monk Fruit Extract- Monk Fruit, also known as Luo Han Guo, is native to Southern China and Northern Thailand.  It is much sweeter than common sugar (about 150 times as sweet) so a little goes a long way! Monk Fruit Extract works really well in smoothies and baked goods! With some blending it incorporates really nicely! Monk fruit extract has no weird after tastes. I can’t even tell that it’s not real sugar. Some of my favorite Keto Brands use monk fruit extract to sweeten their products.

Choc Zero uses monk fruit to get to add just the right amount of sweetness to balance out their amazing Keto Chocolate. Choc Zero has so many wonderful Keto Sweets! They have dark, milk, and white chocolate squares. They sell amazing chocolate barks with Hazelnuts, Almonds, and Coconut! They are my favorite after dinner dessert. Choc Zero also has Honest Syrups. They are completely sugar free and sweetened with Monk Fruit extract and the flavors are amazing! They have everything from Maple Pecan Syrup to Banana! I love their Strawberry Syrup on Keto Strawberry Pancakes. Get 10% off all Choc Zero Products with the code KETOINTHECITY

And Nui Cookies use Monk Fruit Extract in all four of their Keto Cookie Flavors.

Stevia- Stevia is a sweetener made from the plant by the same name. It is native to Brazil and Paraguay. It has no calories and no sugar. Most days on the way to work, I swing by Starbucks for a coffee with heavy whipping cream. I then add a couple drops of liquid stevia to add a bit of sweetness. Liquid Stevia incorporates right into liquids and has no weird flavor. Perfect Keto uses stevia powder in their Keto Supplement to make them extra delicious.

Erythritol-  Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that occurs naturally in some fruit and fermented foods. It is almost non-caloric and doesn’t affect blood sugar.  I’ve found that Erythritol is the best sweetener for baking. I use it in my Fathead Cinnamon Roll Recipe and in my Chewy Chocolate Chip recipe. It bakes up just how you would expect real sugar to. It doesn’t effect the rise or bake time. Also I love that Erythritol isn’t too sweet. You don’t even notice that you aren’t eating real sugar.

I hope this guide helps you understand how to bring a little sweetness into your life without undoing all of your hard work!!

Jen

Nui is one of my favorite Keto Brands! They make KETO products not just products that you can kind of fit into your macros. That peace of mind is wonderful!

These Keto cookies are incredible. They are chewy and flavorful and just sweet enough. One sleeve (two cookies) has at the most 4g of Net Carbs.

Nui cookies come in several different flavors: Peanut Butter, Snickerdoodle, Double Chocolate, and Chocolate Chip. Every so often they come out with a seasonal flavor, but you can get these four all year long.

Nui cookies are made with almond and coconut flour, so they are naturally gluten free. They are sweetened with monk fruit extract and erythritol.

Nui cookies are delicious! My favorite flavor is Snickerdoodle. These cinnamon Snickerdoodle cookies only have 2 g net carbs in the whole sleeve and have 6g of Protein, making them an amazing and flavorful way to fight off afternoon hunger.

The folks at Nui recently shared this amazing Churro Truffle Recipe. It takes the Snickerdoodle Cookies and turns them into melt in your mouth fat bombs. These are perfect to eat after a long day!

KETO RECIPE: Cinnamon Almonds

Almonds are one of my favorite keto snacks. I keep them at my desk or in my bag for a perfect little pick me up if I am feeling low in energy or hungry. And I LOVE cinnamon! In addition to its tasty spice, it also has a lot of health benefits. It is naturally anti-inflammatory and is really good for our skin.

You can add some sweetener to this recipe if you are looking for a sweet keto snack. I prefer the savory combination of pink salt and cinnamon.

I love pairing these almonds with some Keto Chocolate
